The cottage was sparkling clean and had a modern kitchen and bathroom. The bedroom was lovely and cozy. It had everything we needed for our self-catering holiday. The peaceful and picturesque surroundings were perfect for a relaxing getaway. the location was ideal for exploring nearby Edinburgh, the Lothians, and central Scotland. We had a wonderful and restful stay.
If I had to mention a downside, it would be that the sofa in the living room could use an update for better comfort. However, this minor inconvenience did not overshadow the overall enjoyable experience.

I gotta say, Highfield Cottage exceeded my expectations. The pictures really don't do justice to how massive and spacious the cottage is. The bedroom was comfortable with a big bed, and my friends loved the sofa bed with extra bedding provided. The location was perfect for our comic con plans, and we were pleasantly surprised to find a tennis court in the beautiful gardens. The whole place was spotless and we really enjoyed our stay. Will definitely keep it in mind for future trips to Edinburgh.
The breakfast offerings could use a little improvement. Having a wider variety of options or perhaps a special dish would make it even better.

I was pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness and modernity of the cottage. the photos really don't do justice to how beautiful it is. the cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including a fully equipped kitchen and a modern bathroom. the location was convenient, close to amenities and with easy access to public transportation. the views from the cottage were also lovely, with beautiful gardens and a peaceful atmosphere that allowed for a relaxing holiday.
The seating in the front room, which could have been more comfortable. It would have been nice to have a larger sofa for better relaxation, especially for elderly guests.

The cottage was nicely set out inside and was immaculately clean. I could park the car almost at the door. the bath was awesome, so deep and with amazing water pressure. It didn't take long to fill. the owners were very welcoming and made my doggies feel at home.
The sofa in the living room could be updated or replaced to be a little more comfortable. It didn't detract me from staying here again, but it would have been nicer to have a more comfortable seating option.
